ReNUWIT Nitrogen Group Wins Invaluable Advice and Experience as Contest Finalist

Achievement date:

The Nitrogen Group at the Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Re-inventing the Nation’s Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt), an NSF-funded center headquartered at Stanford University, was selected as one of six finalists in the Imagine H2O (iH2O) competition, a national nonprofit organization that promotes water innovation and entrepreneurship.

The experience introduced ReNUWIt to the green-tech community and investors in the nation's entrepreneurial capital. The advice received during the competition helped the team to improve its business plan as it moves towards commercialization.

The Group received free legal services, business advice, publicity, and access to a network of water investors and experts. ReNUWIt’s research on the "CANDO" process for recovering energy from waste nitrogen was presented to a group of venture capitalists, industry representatives, angel investors, and representatives from water utilities, and was featured at a large event with over 200 attendees.
