MIRTHE Mobile Sensor Systems Hit the Road-Elevated ammonia levels with the locations of the dairy farms

Elevated ammonia levels from the mobile system (yellow traces) were maximized with the locations of the dairy farms (colored gradient). The high-resolution measurements capture emissions from individual farms as shown by the large but narrow peaks in ammonia concentrations. Ammonia changed by orders of magnitude in very short distances, demonstrating the need for fast-response measurements and representative sampling across the valley.
