Laboratory for Mathematical Engineering

The LEMA (Mathematics Engineering Laboratory), ISEP is a research group in the areas of Industrial Mathematics and Mathematical Engineering.

As a multidisciplinary group, LEMA is active in modeling, numerical analysis, dynamic systems, operational research and data analysis, often applied to solving real business problems. Projects and studies by LEMA members include collaborations with SMEs and business groups such as Darvesh , Mota-Engil , Neoturf , Nors, among others. In particular, the whole problem classification process and the consequent mathematical modeling in order to solve them effectively is an asset of LEMA, allowing it to be one of the partners of the Portuguese editions of the European Study Groups with Industry. LEMA's objectives also include training, seminars and scientific meetings.
