Research and Studies Center of Civil Engineering
Faculty of Engineering – Cairo university had established a special unit to conduct research and studies and provide technical consultancy in the field of civil engineering, supported by a huge number of outstanding scientific competencies with broad practical experiences, and by available potential laboratory equipment.
RSCCE vision is to have a leading role in improving the level of planning, design and implementation of civil engineering projects at the local and international levels, and to be a standard for measuring the level of success, excellence and creativity in all fields of civil engineering.
The Research and Studies Center of Civil Engineering (RSCCE) was established in 1993 as a special governmental unit according to the discipline # 24 dated 22/6/1993 of the president of supreme council of universities to serve in providing consultancy services in all major fields of civil engineering such as : Structural and Construction Engineering, Geo-technical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying, Water Resources Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. In case of Integrated Projects, RSCCE provides consultancies in Civil Engineering as well as other branches in Engineering such as Architectural Engineering and Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
STRUCTURAL & GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
• Performing structural safety assessment of different establishments.
• Design, Supervision, and Management of reinforced concrete structures projects.
• Design, Supervision, and Management of steel structure projects.
• Design infrastructural.
• Restoration, Rehabilitation, Renovation of buildings.
• Periodic/ Permanent supervision of project implementation.
• Performing complete safety Geotechnical Investigation and Foundation Studies.
SURVEYING & MAPPING
• Precise Surveying Monitoring to determine the movement of constructions.
• Detailed Surveying for layouts and grid leveling.
• Setting out of the corners of land parcels.
• Cadastral Surveying for defining the land boundaries and boundary coordinates.
• Topographic Surveying in order to produce contour maps.
TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING
• Highway design.
• Roads network design.
• Traffic impact assessment studies.
• Pavement structural design.
• Planning & Design of public transit network and stations.
• Data collecting and analysis of all data related to transport and traffic.
• Preparation of standards and specifications for various transportation and traffic projects.
• Planning, Design and Management of railway projects.
• Supervising of the corrective and preventive maintenance of the railway level crossings.
• Geometric and Structural design of Airports.
WATER RESOURCES & WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
Preparing preliminary studies, site investigation, and feasibility studies for upgrading water supply system and providing wastewater services.
Preparing general master plans for water & wastewater projects.
Designing & preparing detailed drawings for water & wastewater projects.
Preparing complete set of tender documents, including general and special conditions, technical specifications, and bill of quantities.
Calculating cost estimate for all projects and setting average cost per person for each project.
Construction supervision for all water and wastewater works.
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
Preparing environmental studies, including environmental impact studies, environmental auditing, and industrial wastewater treatment.
Design of various hydraulic systems of pipelines, waterways (canal / drains), as well as protection systems against water hammer.

INTEGRATED ENGINEERING STUDIES
Integrated engineering designs (Architectural - Construction - Electrical - Mechanical - Sanitary).
Preparing complete set of tender documents, including general and special conditions, technical specifications, bill of quantities and calculating cost estimate for all engineering projects.
Preparing feasibility studies for all engineering projects.
Providing all engineering consultancy services in management and execution of civil engineering projects.
Evaluating the technical, executional and financial studies of the management and execution of civil engineering projects.
Organizing seminars and scientific conferences and training courses in the fields of civil engineering.
Strengthening scientific and research links with other universities and scientific communities.
