CBiRC-Catalytic capabilities generator

Using the PHYRE2* server, one can generate predicted models of the Arabidopsis acetyl-CoA synthetase (blue residues) and malonyl-CoA synthetase (red residues) active site pocket, based upon 3-D structures of the yeast acetyl-CoA synthetases. With such models, mutations of key residues have been changed by CBiRC to alter the substrate specificity of the Arabidopsis acetyl-CoA synthetase from acetate to butyrate and valerate.
