Gerard Cote named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors
The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has elected our PATHS-UP director, Dr. Gerard Coté to NAI Fellow status. The NAI Fellows Program is a highly prestigious program that highlights academic inventors ‘ who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society’.
Dr. Coté joins more than 1500 Fellows worldwide, who collectively hold more than 53,000 issued U.S. patents, which have generated over 13,000 licensed technologies, 3,200 companies and created more than 1 million jobs. Dr Coté received his award this year in June at the 11th NAI Annual Meeting in Pheonix, AZ.
In addition to induction into the Fellows Program, another PATHS-UP faculty Dr. Melissa Grunlan was names as a Senior member. Dr Grunlan is among 83 academic inventors from 41 member institutions and research universities who are named in today’s NAI announcement. Collectively, the 2022 class of NAI Senior Members has produced more than 1,093 issued U.S. patents.
