CELL-MET1-R-Bioprint_fig.jpg

The figure depicts the engineered thin cardiac patch. (A) 3D BioBlock Printing uses engineered microbundles as a starting material that is suspended into a bioink (left), and can be printed along a print path to define different orientations of high fidelity (top right). Over time, printed microbundles fuse to create more aligned, larger-scale tissues (bottom right). (B) CELL-MET is developing new techniques to generate large volumes of aligned Bioblocks. Using a scalable technique, it creates aligned microbundles that release easily for use in bioink for printing.
